At Hometown Sheds, we are more than sheds – much more. One of our recent projects shows how much we can truly customize storage to meet the needs of your home or in this case, business.
Getting Started. Recently the contractors for Averett University located in Danville, Virginia reached out to our Hometown Sheds Danville location about a custom project that they needed completed. The college was installing a very large evaporative air conditioning unit outside of one of their primary buildings. The contractors needed a structure to keep it covered from the elements and to keep it secured over time. After several meetings with Steve, our Hometown Sheds Danville manager, a plan was put into place.
Bringing It to Life. Once the measurements were taken and plans discussed, the construction began. However, there were a few unique features that needed to be accommodated. First, due to the nature of the system, the covering needed to include an air gap at the top all the way around for ventilation. Second, the framework needed to be constructed so that wires could be run and properly installed around the back of the unit. During several parts of the project plans were adjusted and “tweaked” to accommodate the new system. The steel structure was truly customized to fit the project.
The Finished Project. From the initial meeting to final inspection, the new structure was designed, installed, and finished in around three months. Upon completion, the covering measured 14 x 31 x 20 on one section and around 14x50x10 on another. Our customers were pleased with the final outcome and the new air conditioning unit will stay covered, safe, and secure for many years to come.
